Students at Wequiock Elementary come together for a big cause.
The Wequiock Elementary Student Council recently held a Wear Yellow/Pink/Orange Day for cancer awareness.
Each child who chose to participate was asked to donate 50 cents for Sting Cancer.
The students raised $83.40.
Principal Shirley Paulson commented, "Our Student Council is brand new so this is our first attempt at fundraising, and considering we only have 170 students, we were pleased."
The students of Wequiock Elementary presented the donation to the Preble Sting Cancer organization at an assembly held April 23rd.
