Green Bay Packers Large Group Award
The motto of Green Bay Preble High School's STING Cancer group is, "Cancer bites, but we bite back." The group was initiated by special education teacher Nick Nesvacil, a Denmark native who a brain tumor that was diagnosed while he was a student at St. Norbert College.

Now over 200 members strong, STING Cancer members work to provide assistance to families affected by cancer. They host fundraising events to earn money to provide items such as gas cards, gift certificates to restaurants, or other items that will provide practical assistance and comfort to families impacted by the disease.

STING Cancer members are also getting their hands dirty - literally - by doing yard work and other tasks that will lighten the load for people with cancer. They have offered assistance to about 125 families, most within the Preble neighborhood.
Members are currently making plans to extend STING Cancer to other local schools and across the nation.

In fact, Nesvacil is working with faculty at UW-Green Bay to public a book that will provide the tools to replicate STING Cancer from coast to coast.
